One platform from application code to production
Encore is an open source infrastructure SDK where you declare the common backend primitives like services, databases, Pub/Sub, caches, and more, directly in application code. The result is a type-safe, self-documenting backend that runs the same locally and in the cloud.
Encore's platform analyzes your application and provisions the matching infrastructure in your own AWS or GCP account, including IAM and networking. Teams get production-grade infrastructure without writing Terraform or waiting on a platform team.
Run your entire stack locally with one command, and get a dedicated cloud environment for every pull request. Developers and agents can validate changes against real infrastructure before anything reaches production.
Built-in, high performance CI/CD with GitHub integration deploys to AWS, GCP, or both without code changes. Ship a new feature in a single pull request, instead of coordinating changes across application code and infrastructure as code like Terraform.
Distributed tracing, metrics, automatic architecture diagrams, and API documentation are generated from your code. Teams understand and debug their systems without stitching together separate monitoring tools.

The team behind Encore
Founded in Stockholm by two ex-Spotify builders
André Eriksson
André taught himself to code as a kid and became a staff engineer at Spotify, where the distributed systems he built taught him how much of cloud development is repetitive infrastructure work. He started Encore as a side project in 2017 to solve this, and left Spotify in 2020 to build it full time.
